Hell or High Water Hell or High Water is a 2016 non-western film. The movie is set in the present day and involves two brothers stealing from banks across Texas to buy back their family's ranch and the Texas Rangers that chase them. Hell or High Water has many of the archetypes commonly found in traditional westerns, like outlaws and lawmen, despite being set in the present day. These archetypes are given a modern twist. For example, a Comanche character is found in a casino rather than on the plains of Texas. The plot of Hell or High Water is a classic revenge story with poetic justice, because the brothers are stealing from the bank that bought their ranch to begin with, which is also similar to many traditional westerns. The main thing that makes Hell or High Water different from traditional western are the themes that it explores. Some themes in Hell or High Water are poverty and mistrust. Media Blog #1

My Relationship with Media I interact with media every day. The first thing I do in the morning is check my social media to see if anyone has messaged me. I also engage with media when I watch the news while I eat breakfast before school. At school I check my phone during almost every break. I listen to music on my phone on the way home from school. At home the television has become my main source of entertainment. Anytime I'm bored I'll turn on the TV and find a movie or show to watch. When I'm not watching TV, I browse the internet or play video games. I probably waste a lot of time on interactive media, but it's not all bad. Playing online video games gives me a chance to have fun experiences with my friends that I wouldn't have had otherwise. In my opinion, playing online video games is a great bonding experience. I also engage in print media, like books. Besides the books I read for school, I have all kinds of novels that I enjoy reading or listening to as an…
